Alumni Support Network
The Alumni Support Network is an ongoing community for alumni of New Story programs who wish to remain rooted in practice while living in the space between stories.
The work of formation does not end when a program concludes. For many, it deepens over time and requires steady, communal support. The Alumni Support Network exists to provide that support through consistent gathering, shared presence, and mutual accountability.
This community is not time-bound. It continues for as long as participants find value in gathering together in this way.
Overview
Who This Community Is For
The Alumni Support Network is for alumni who:
Have completed a New Story program
Desire continued connection with others committed to living attentively during a time of transition
Recognize that sustained practice requires reinforcement and companionship
Participants are people who value simplicity, consistency, and the quiet strength of gathering with others who share a common orientation.
This community is not for those seeking new content, expanded teaching, or advanced material. It exists to support what has already been received.
What Participants Engage In
Alumni gather once a month via Zoom for a 1.5-hour session focused on mutual support in lived practice.
Gatherings may include:
Sharing how participants are witnessing the ending of the Old Story without becoming unsettled
Reflecting on practices that help them remain rooted in what some have called “the other country”
Holding space for grief related to endings and loss
Supporting one another in prayer, meditation, and contemplative practice
Staying grounded in values such as hope, courage, oneness, and love
The emphasis is not on instruction, but on presence.
Why Ongoing Support Matters
Liminal space is not crossed once and left behind. It is inhabited.
Without regular reinforcement, even well-established practices can erode under the pressures of daily life. The Alumni Support Network exists to provide continuity — a steady place to return, listen, and be accompanied.
Its strength lies in consistency rather than complexity.
What This Community Is Not
The Alumni Support Network is not:
A continuation of the Stewards or Seven Foundational Qualities curriculum
A place for new teaching or expanded content
A casual or purely social gathering
Its purpose is specific: mutual support in sustained spiritual practice.
The Rhythm of the Network
The network meets monthly with no predetermined end date.
Each gathering follows a simple, repeatable structure that allows participants to check in honestly, share what they are practicing, and offer and receive support.
The format remains consistent so attention can stay focused on the work itself rather than on process.
One monthly Zoom session (approximately 1.5 hours)
Ongoing engagement with personal practices between gatherings
Participation operates within the New Story Community’s gift economy. There is no fee.
Time Commitment
A Note on Continuity
The Alumni Support Network is not about moving forward to something else.
It is about staying — staying with practice, staying with one another, and staying attentive to what is being asked in this time between stories.
